Digital pool - interactive installation

Digital Pool is an interactive multimedia installation built with TouchDesigner and VCV Rack. Both the music and the visuals are generated in real time, reacting to the movement of the user’s hands, which are tracked through a webcam.

The installation draws heavily on the Frutiger Aero aesthetic and is also inspired by Jared Pike’s Dream Pools. Its intention is to evoke a meditative sense of nostalgia ; a reminder of a time when the aesthetics of technology still carried an optimistic, utopian vision of the future.

This was a test animation I made as a trailer for a short film project that was maybe too ambitious. The frames are hand drawn on paper and then stylized through a custom digital process made with python.

"Pôle logan" animated shorts :

"Pôle logan" is a series of animated shorts I made during my time in engineering school. They were part of compilations made by the school's audio visual club that were screened before each vacation. The shorts were usually made in a limited time period during sleepless nights. They often feature M. Meshaka who was the director of our school at the time and are filled with inside jokes about our school life.

I experimented with different animation techniques from automated rotoscoping using EBsynth to animating directly inside ms Paint (painfully drawn frame by frame with my trackpad).
